Biography
Minor Rockstar is a dynamic rock project led by singer-songwriter Landon Cripe, delivering a high-energy sound that adapts seamlessly from intimate acoustic solo sets to explosive full-band performances.
Signed to Thumperpunk Records, Minor Rockstar's music has been characterized by critics as featuring "confessional lyrics" and "riffs that bleed '90s angst." The project's early trajectory was heavily shaped by Ronnie Winter of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, who produced Minor Rockstar's first recordings and contributed drums and backing vocals on several tracks.
Between 2015 and 2018, Minor Rockstar performed as an opening act for The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, with various musicians joining the live lineup throughout the band's touring years. Today, Minor Rockstar continues as Cripe's primary creative outlet, featuring a rotating cast of collaborators in the studio and on stage.
Sonically, Minor Rockstar exists at the intersection of power-pop hooks, alternative rock grit, and punk-rock energy. The name itself is a badge of honor—a nod to the unsung heroes of local music scenes and the enduring spirit of the underdog.
By trading polished perfection for honesty and heart, Minor Rockstar proves that the best rock and roll is still a little dangerous, fiercely authentic, and unapologetically real.
